Alkebulan - African Dining Hall | Expo 2020 Dubai
Showcasing african delights at Expo 2020 Dubai
At the lavish Expo 2020 in Dubai, we were honored to be invited to inaugurate and manage a gastronomic counter at ALKEBULAN, the world's first "African Dining Hall."
For this special occasion, we launched the "Penja" pop-up restaurant, promising an "innovative African cuisine" that breaks the mold. Our aim was to delight newcomers while surprising connoisseurs. The menu featured a mix of Afro-vegan cuisine, bistronomy, and indulgent yet healthy pastries.
"Penja," named after the extraordinary pepper exclusively produced in Cameroon's Moungo department, widely regarded as one of the finest globally, was the first African product to earn the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status. This name was chosen to honor and symbolize the excellence and richness of African lands.
To bring this project to life, we collaborated with three renowned and talented chefs. Together, they created a menu that reflected their individual culinary worlds and, more importantly, the overall vision of the project.
For six months, we welcomed an international audience eager to explore new flavors. We implemented various marketing and advertising activations both on and off-site to promote our initiative and cuisines to a broader audience.
